It all started when I noticed that P-Dub posted a recipe for what she considers “perfect potato soup”.
My immediate thought was ” hey, I don’t know about that … that potato soup I made last year was seriously title worthy …I’m gonna make that stuff again and then challenge her to a throwdown …”
So I bought these:
And made this:
Don’t let the photo fool you. This is the world’s WORST potato soup ever. Ever. EVER.
I’m not sure I can even begin to tell you where things went wrong.
Except to tell you that I didn’t use a real recipe. I thought I could throw a little of this and a little of that (going from memory of course) and replicate my last potato soup (which is the REAL “perfect potato soup”).
I took a taste from the pot. It was awful.
But I forced down a bowl. Out of pride.
I literally feel sick right now. And I just sent a text to my husband letting him know he should probably pick up a pizza on his way home if he wants to eat this evening.
I fed Mayhem a bowl of Cheerios for dinner.
There was no chance I was going to blog about this horrific soup until I loaded the photographs onto my computer.
And came across this gem:
Silver lining.
If I didn’t make the world’s worst potato soup today, I wouldn’t have made this either. I just love that.
Happy Weekend. Hope yours is souper terrific

I loved your instagram picture of the soup with all the extra filters. I feel for you, my dear. And I giggle a little too; we’ve all been there. Especially after seeing a yummy PW recipe and wanting to implement it in our own kitchen. That picture above really is fantastic though!
Well I had to try something and the filters seemed like the only thing that might help ….
Seriously, so glad someone can relate – darn that PW and all her yummy recipes!
Thanks for serving me the grilled turkey & cheese for lunch and not having this ready for a test run when I was there yesterday
BTW…the grilled turkey & cheese was delish!!!
You are one lucky mama! And yes, the grilled t+C was pretty good. I should prolly not give up my day job
